In this week, G8 summit was held in Heiligendamm. The most important subject of this summit was about cutting greenhouse gases to prevent global warming. And as a result of the conference, G8 countries agreed to reduce CO2 emissions by half. But they could not yet finally manage to set a numerical target, because of USA's unwilling to make concrete and binding control. Of course, it is important to discuss with each other enough. However, global warming is an imminent problem, and we have not so much more time. So I want them to make a specific plan and carry it into action immediately. I hope Japan will lead discussion powerfully at the next summit in Hokkaido.
Question:
What is the background of America's opposition to limit CO2 emissions?
